Re: well, here it is

Nice job on a great tune. Nice vocorder sound too. In the original the toms do the job of the hi-hat in propelling the song with 16th notes. You may want to try to emulate that (perhaps w/ some delay?). Also, in that descending refrain (the one that happens right before the vocals) the snare switch...

well, here it is

Well here it is, I tried posting this a long time ago but got like 0 listens 'cause it was on another site, and 0 replies either, and i deleted it. Soooo, I did some editing and updated it, and put it on soundcloud. my cover of Dead souls, originally by Joy division, and then Nine inch nails. If you...

Re: Influences

nine inch nails, KMFDM, Ministry, Depeche mode, information society, Duran duran, They might be giants, barenaked ladies, and a pile of nonspecific 80's music. Also alot of video game music from the sega genesis/super nintendo era. I would say aphex twin is on that list, but I've only heard a few of...

Re: DAWs

I never actually knew live worked that way, I could never figure out how to use it at all, but I guess I'm gonna have to start fiddling with it, that's actually really cool!

Re: DAWs

well I have a number of DAW's as well, some legitimate some not. Under my belt are: session, Live, FLstudio, and Renoise. I prefer FLStuio, and session, over live and renoise for one simple reason. All tracks layed out in chronological order, left to right. Renoise is a tracker, like OpenMPT, and is...

Re: Your home/live setup !

you guys have some awesome setups, I really feel out of place, all of my stuff is junk by comparison (except my guitar) I have an M-Audio USB keystation 49 that I never use, some sort of usb virtual soundcard thing that came with it, that I do use alot, the DS10 in my DSi, an extra stereo cable that...

I should probably do this

Yeah, so I'm miles, I live in ohio, I'm quite far from a professional musician, or even a performing musician. this is more of just a hobby for me, but I have made a track to celebrate finding this little forum, and have no idea where to post it... does that go in releases or something? Anyway, I'm ...

Re: Live oriented ds-10 scratch patch in action, anyone?

that's pretty awesome. it kinda reminds me of toejam & earl panic on funkatron. ...then again... every synth-scratch sounds like that to me... this is by far the best one I've heard though, and you can use it pretty well, and it's very impressive. if I saw you in person at some random place, and you...

Re: Some bubbling Youtube videos

Well I'm not sure if anyone's seen these or not, because I'm kinda new to the forums, but I figured these 5 tracks where worth enough note to bump this somewhat older thread. I didn't really wanna start a new thread for just this. Star guitar - The chemical brothers zNd-STIYkiE Save a prayer - Duran...

Re: Ideas for DS-10 / DS-20 / New KORG DS Products

MilesT3hR4t has some interesting ideas. I like the SD card import/export idea. The FM synth idea is neat but would (and should) probably be an entirely different product - Korg DS-M1 anyone? Korg DS Collection. by using the SD cards to save data, you no longer need ANY space on the actual game card...

Re: HOW TO: record audio from your DS to your Computer...

Why not just use a polysynth vst plugin? Remember that the DS-10 is not an all around synth workstation - it is specifically a virtual software version of a classic monophonic semi-modular synth (paired with a classic analogue style step sequencer). It is what it is. Of course, back in the day peop...

Re: HOW TO: record audio from your DS to your Computer...

well, even without using effects, you can still use it to arrange. you could easily get polyphonic in this way, which is something that has been mentioned before.

Re: Ideas for DS-10 / DS-20 / New KORG DS Products

My suggestion? Control over what is and isn't loaded into memory, For instance "I don't want drums, replace them with more synths" or perhaps, "I don't use 2 of my synths, and I want like 30 drum hits! GIVE ME! amen break! amen break!" if 1 synth is 2 osc, and we have 4x 2osc, I'd want to mix it up....

Re: HOW TO: record audio from your DS to your Computer...

Hey uh. I've noticed an over-all lack of good bass with the DSi's headphone jack, and come up with a fairly reliable fix. increase the DB by 1-3 on the 300Hz and below range. if it's a bassline, boost it by 5 for a nice beefy sound. Also, since audacity is free, and a stereo cable is cheap, I figure...
